Summer Days Tutorial

You will need:

A nice summery tube - I used one from Jamie Kidd.
You must be a registered member of CILM to buy the tubes.
Scrapkit called "Summer Day" from FantasyMonents Scraps

My supplies - Vix Mask-41 - please don't change file name of mask.

New white canvas 700x700



Copy & paste one of the Heart Elements from scrapkit as a new layer.
Resize it 85% Bicubic-all layers unchecked.

Select 2 of the colourful flowers from the scrap kit - resize them 80%
Bicubic-all layers unchecked, placing them down the side of the heart.
Merge Down the flowers - give them this drop shadow



Copy & paste one of the Caterpillar elements from scrapkit - resize 50%
Bicubic-all layers inchecked - place him over the flowers. Carefully with your
Eraser Tool, erase some of the body of the Caterpillar so it looks as though he is
inter-twined with the flowers. (see mine for example)
Give the Caterpillar the same drop shadow.

Copy & paste any other opf the elements from the scarpkit to add colour. I used one
of the bees & lady beetles - resized them 35% Bicubic-all layers unchecked. Give drop shadow.

Make the Heart FRame active - Magic Wand, click inside - Selections-Modify-Expand 5.
Select 2 colours from your tube for your foreground & background colours



Click Gradient - use these settings



New Raster layer - flood fill with your Gradient. Selections-None. Move this layer
below the heart layer. Give the Heart the same drop shadow as before.

Now it is time to add your tube - make heart layer active - Copy & paste the tube as a new layer
placing your tube where it is suitable. The tube should be just under the flowers. Carefully erase
any of the tube that may be protruding out side the heart.
Cross out eyes on the bottom layer (white) Merge Visible all other layers. Resize Image layer 85% Bicubic
all layers unchecked. Make white background layer active - new Raster layer - flood fill with the Gradient
you used before. Open up the mask from my supplies - minimize it. New Mask layer - From Image with these settings



Merge Group. Add your name & correct copyright. Crop Tool - crop to remove excess white background.
You may need to resize again. I resized mine 87% Bicubic-all layers checked. Save as a *Png
