Garden Elegance Tutorial

You will need:

Tube - I used one of Caron Vinson's lovely fairies.
You need to be a registered member of CILM to purchase her
tubes, but any pretty tube will do.
Scrap kit called 'Garden_Elegance' from SimplySensational Scraps

he font I used is called Monotype Corsiva - it came with my PSPX1.
My supplies - GardenElegance Template

Open up my GardenElegance Template - click Shift D to copy it. Delete
original template. Make bottom layer of the template active - Image-
Canvas Size with these settings



Delete the TOU & Heart layers . Back down to Slatter layer, make it active,
Selections-Float-Defloat - copy & paste a paper from the scrap kit. Selections-
Invert, hit delete. Selections-None. Delete original Splatter layer. Give the new paper
layer this drop shadow



Resize coloured Splatter layer 115% Bicubic-all layers unchecked

Make the Diamond layer active on the template - do the same as above, using another paper
from scrap kit. Give drop shadow. Remember to delete original layer.

Do the same with the Square layer, using another paper from scrap kit. Drop shadow.
delete original layer.

Copy & paste your tube as a new layer. Move your tube so it is central in the square. If any of the
tube is protruding below the sqaure, use the Freehand Selection Tool & draw around the bottom part
of tube, like this



Hit delete - Selections-None. Give your tube drop shadow as before.

Copy & paste one of the Flower Bunch elements from scrap kit as a new layer.
Move to cover bottom of tube. Resize 80% Bicubic-all layers unchecked. Give drop shadow

Copy & paste one of the Ribbon Flower elements as a new layer. Resize 45% Bicubic-all layers unchecked.
Image-Sharpen. Give drop shadow - duplicate-Image-Mirror, move the duplicate Ribbon Flower in slightly.

Copy & paste one of the Tied Bows from scrap kit as a new layer. Move the Tied Bow layer below your
tube layer. Image-Sharpen. Give drop shadow.

Copy & paste one of the Butterfly elements from scrap kit as a new layer. Resize 40% Bicubic-all layers
unchecked. Image-Sharpen More. Give drop shadow. Copy & paste another Butterfly elements as before, mirror.
Resize as before & sharpen. Give drop shadow.


At this stage you can add any other elements from the scrap kit you like. Once finished, cross out the eyes
on bottom layer (white). Merge Visible. Turn eyes on again. Make your merged image active, resize 85% Bicubic-
all layers unchecked. Duplicate - make original merged image layer active - Adjust-Blur-Gaussian Blur 25.

Still on Blurred layer go to Effects-Texture Effects-Texture & use one of the Texture Effects. I used this one



Resize Textured layer 95% Bicubic-all layers unchecked. Make top merged image active - Merge Down. You should
now only have 2 layers on your layer palette. Add your name & correct copyright. Crop Tool - crop excess white
background. Cross out eyes on bottom layer once more - Merge Visible all other layers. Click on the top blue bar,
COPY & paste on your workspace As A New Image. You should now have a transparent background on you new image.
Save as a *Png. Delete the original one.
