Winter Wind Tutorial






You will need:

A tube - I used one of Jennifer Janesko tubes
You need to be a registered member of CILM to purchase her
tubes, but any head shot tube will do.
Scrap kit called 'Winter Wind' from Sentimental Style
HERE
Font I used is called Antisocial Behaviour
HERE
Vix-PSP Mask 286
HERE


New white canvas 700x700



Select 2 colours from your tube fore the foreground
& background colours.
Gradient with these settings



New Raster layer - Flood Fill with your gradient. Open up & minimise
VixMask286. New Mask Layer-From Image with these settings



Merge Group - resize 90% Bicubic-all layers unchecked. Move across to
the left slightly - duplicate - Image-Mirror. Merge Down. Resize once more
the 90%.

Copy & paste the WinterWind Frame from scarp kit as anew layer. Magic Wand,
click inside the frame - selections-Modify-Expand 10.
Copy & paste a paper from scrap kit as a new layer - Selections-Invert, hit delete.
Selections-None. Move the paper layer below the frame layer.
Magic Wand once again, click inside the frame, expand as before with Selections.
Copy & paste your tube as a new layer. Position the tube to the side - see mine.
Selections-Invert, hit delete. Selections-None. MOve the tube layer below the frame layer.

Make the frame layer active - give this drop shadow



Copy & paste one of the Ribbons from scrap kit as a new layer. Image-Mirror - Image-
Free Rotate-Rotate 65 right. Position the ribbon over on the left of the frame.
Freehand Selection Tool, draw around the bits of ribbon protruding out from the frame.



Hit delete - Selections-None. Give the ribbon the drop shadow. Adjust-Sharpen.

Copy & paste one of the Flowers from scrap kit as a new layer - reise 60% Bicubic-
all layers unchecked- Adjust-Sharpen. Give drop shadow. Move over to the right top of
the frame. Duplicate - resize 80% Bicubic-all layers unchecked. Adjust-Sharpen. Move down
slightly.

Copy & paste one of the Buttons from scrap kit as a new layer. Move up so it looks as
though the frame is hanging off it. Give drop shadow - Adjust-Sharpen.

Now, make the mask layer active - duplicate, grab the duplicated layer with your Mover Tool
& bring down slightly, so that a bit of the mask is showing under the frame.

Cross out the eyes on the bottom layer (white) MERGE VISIBLE all other layers.
Having your merged image active - resize 85% Bicubic-all layers unchecked.
Add your name & correct copyright.
Merge Visible once more (eyes should still be closed off on bottom layer).
Open the eyes up - Crop Tool, crop carefully any excess white background.
Resize about 92% Bicubic-all layers CHECKED. Click COPY on top blue bar & paste
as a New Image on your workspace. Your image should now have a transparent background.
Save as a *Png
