Modern Girl Tutorial

You will need:

2 tubes - one a close up, the other standing.
I used the work of ©PinUpToons. You need to be a registered
member of CreativeDesignsOutlet
to purchase the tubes, but If you have previously purchased ©PinUpToons tubes from CILM,
you must use your CILM membership number.
You can use any tubes you like with this tutorial - the above are
just an example.
My 'ModernGirl Template'

Scrap kit called 'I Am A Modern Girl' from BlueDreams Designs

Font I used is called 'MondoRedondo'

Open up my 'ModernGirl' template - hold down the Shift & D kys to copy it.
You can now cancel the original template.
Make the bottom layer (white) active, go to Image-Canvas Size with these settings



Flood fill with white. Delete my TOU layer (top layer).
Make the Rectangle layer active - Select All-Float-Defloat.
Copy & paper from the scrap kit & paste as a new layer. You make have to move the paper
to fit over the selected area. Selections-Invert - hit delete on your keyboard.Selections-None
Delete the original Rectangle layer. Magic Wand, click inside your new coloured Rectangle-
Selections-Modify-Expand 6. Copy & paste another paper from scrap kit as a new layer.
Selections-Invert, hit delete as before. Selections-None. Move the new paper layer below the
coloured Rectangle layer.

Now, you can Merge Down the 2 frame layers if you wish - I found it simpler to add the new paper
layer this way. Make the top Frame layer active-MERGE DOWN. Select All-Float-Defloat, paste the 1st
paper you used from scrap kit as a new layer. Selections-Invert, hit delete. Selections-None.
You can now delete the original Frame layers. Magic Wand, click inside both the Frames - copy & paste
the 2nd paper from the scrap kit you used - Selections-Invert, hit delete. Selections-None.
Move that paper layer below the Frames layer.

Back to the coloured Rectangle, make it active - give this drop shadow



Do the same drop shadow on the Frames layer.

Copy & paste on of the Charm elements from scrap kit as a new layer. Resize 70% Bicubic-all layers
unchecked. Adjust-Sharpen. Give drop shadow as before.

Copy & paste either one of the Bows or Flower elements from scrap kit as a new layer.
Resize as before. Adjust-Sharpen- Add drop shadow.Move it to cover the top of the Charm.

Copy & paste your closeup tube as a new layer - moving her over to the Rectangle like mine.
Copy & paste the Laptop element from the scrap kit as a new layer- resize 65% bicubic-all layers unchecked.
Move it across to cover the bottom part of the tube - like mine. Copy & paste one of the Label elements
from the scrap kit as a new layer - resize 55% Bicubic-all layers unchecked.
Give your tube, Laptop & Label elements the same drop shadow as before.

Copy & paste your standing tube as a new layer - move the tube across the the Frames. Give drop shadow.
Copy & paste one of the Journel elements from scrap kit as anew layer. Move across in front of the. Image
Free Rotate-Rotate 35 left. Give drop shadow.
Copy & paste the Phone element from scrap kit as a new layer - resize 55% Bicubic-all layers unchecked.
Image-Free Rotate-Rotate 35 right. Move down under your standing tube layer & over the Frames layer. Give drop shadow.

Add your name on the 'Journel' & correct copyright somwhere on your image.
Cross out eyes on bottom layer (white) MERGE VISIBLE all other layers.
Click COPY on top blue bar & paste as a new Image on your workspace. Your image should now have
a transparent background. I resize my image 85% Bicubic-all layers CHECKED.
Save as a *Png
