Musical Romance Tutorial

Click on image to see larger version

I created this tut in PSPX1 (11) but it can be done
with any version of PSP. This is an easy tutorial
with not much to do, just take your time.
No outside filters used

You will need:

A tube - I used one of Fred Winkler's lovely tubes. You need
to be a member of CDO
to purchase his tubes, but any tube will do.
Scrap kit called "Musical Romance" from Scraps Demensions
Template #132 from Punky Butts
Font I used is called "Ma Sexy" from Dafont.com

Open up template #132 - click Shift D to copy it. Delete original template.
Make bottom later active - go to Image-canvas size with these settings

Flood Fill with white. Now go up to top 5 layers & delete each one (1-2-3-4-5)

Open up 2 Papers from scrap kit that will match your tube. We will be using these papers to fill
the layers on the template.

Make Left Large Square layer active, Select All, Float, Defloat, copy & paste one of the papers as a new layer.
Selections-Invert- hit delete. Selections-None.

Make Left Large Square Frame layer active - Magic Wand, click inside the frame to have the marching ants all
around it - select a colour from your tube & flood fill the frme. Selections-None once you have done this.
Add drop shadow with these settings

Do the same as above for the Right Large Square & Frame.

Now for the next step - we will be merging Left Rectangle & Right Rectangle together. Make Right Rec layer active, move it down
to above the Left Rec layer, Merge Down. This layer should nnow be active. Select All-Float-Defloat - copy & paste your 1st paper
as a new layer - Selections-Invert, hit delete - keep selected - copy & paste your tube as a new layer - move tube so it sits
centre of the left square, hit delete. Mirror your original tube, copy & paste it as a new layer, moving it so it sits central of the
right square, hit delete. Selections-None.

Now we are going to merge both Left & Right frams together. Make Right Frame layer active - Merge Down. With your magic Wand once more,
click the merged frames - flood fill with your colour. Selections-None - add drop shadow.

Make Large Circle layer active - Select All-Float-Defloat, paste your 2nd paper as a new layer. Selections-Invert, hit delete.
Selections-None

Click on Large Circle Frame - flood fill it with your colour - Selections-None - add drop shadow.

Now, make Right Square layer active - Merge Down to Left Square. Select All-Float-Defloat, copy & paste 2nd paper as
a new layer - Selections-Invert, hit delete. Selections-None.

Make Right Square Frame layer active - Merge Down to Left Square Frame. Maic Wand, select both frames & flood fill with your colour.
Selections-None - add drop shadow.

Make Small Circle layer active - Select All-Float-Defloat, copy & paste 1st paper as a new layer. Selections-Invert, hit delete.

Make Small Circle Frame layer active - Magic Wand, select the frame. Flood fill with your colour.  At this stage
we won't add drop shadow as yet. Keep selected - copy your tube once more & paste as a new layer (your tube should be the very top layer on
your layers board) Selections-Invert, Eraser Tool, erase any of the tube protruding below the circle frame. Once
you have done that, Selections-Invert again & erase any of the tube covering the botoom of the circle frame. Now you can add
the drop shadow to the circle frame.

Copy & paste one of the Bows from scrap kit as a new layer. I resized mine 35% Bicubic-all layers unchecked. Image-Free Rotate-Rotate 35 Right.
Move across to the left bottom like mine - duplicate-image-mirror-Merge Down - add drop shadow

Now, go down to the double tube layer, copy & paste SD MR Note 2 from scrap kit as a new layer. Move this down with your Move Tool so the Notes
are under the Bows. (like Mine)

Cross out eyes on bottom layer (white) Merge Visible all other layers. Open up the eyes now on bottom layer. Have our merged layer active.
Add correct copyright & your name.
Cross out eyes once more on bottom layer (white) Merge Visible all other layers. Click COPY & paste as a new Image on your workspace.
Your merged image should now have a transparent background. You can now resize if you wish. I resized mine 78% Bicubic-all layers CHECKED.
Save as a *png.
